Festival
of Baroque Art
From 28th June to 7th July in Roya
Bevera Les
Baroquiales put on 16 shows over 10 days in 6 villages : Sospel,
Breil sur Roya, Fontan,
Saorge, La
Brigue, Tende...
Streets bustling with activity, historic crafts, tastings, guided
tours and water tournaments will recreate a Baroque atmosphere around
performances of "opéra chorégraphique", concerts and Baroque fairs,
as well as Commedia dell'Arte and other theatre performances.

The Bottles Procession at
Boulbon the evening of the 1st June : every year at 19h, all the men and boys in the
village parade up to the St Marcellin's chapel, each one bringing
his best bottles. The village priest solemnly blesses the botles and
the men drink religiously...Then the parade returns to the village
with light and joyous hearts.

St Eloi Fêtes at
Noves the 1 & 2,Maussane
the 8 & 9, at Eyragues
from 29 to 01 july.Parade of the best and most beautiful flower decorated
carts and floats. Bull running, camargue style horse racing, music,
dancing, boules, bodegas and a traditional market.

21 to 23 June Saint-Jean's Fête
With the traditional St Jean's Fire we celebrate the arrival of
summer just about everywhere in Provence.
The fête is always accompanied by concerts, parades and often bull
runing in the ancient arena, bull taunting and of course dancing and
traditional markets,

Gaude, Guillaumes.

La Colle, Mouans-Sartoux,
Opio, St
Paul, Valbonne, Coaraze.
The 23 at St Jean Cap Ferrat,

At Bedoin Saint-Jean's fire will
be at the summit of the Mont Ventoux from 22h30 with provencal dancing
and singing

In
Biot Eloi Monod
Exhibition 8th June to 29th September: Half a century of glassware
. It was in 1956 that the first glassware was produced in Biot, thanks
to Eloi MONOD, engineer and ceramist, who devised the first household
items made from glass: carafes, glasses and tumblers, which were originally
made by potters. The exhibition retraces the development of this art
up to the present day. |

The Val d'Allos Race
and the 120 km Verdon Trail Aventures
23th june. A semi autonomous "race"
(less feeding/drinking points) at your own speed around a circuit
which takes advantage of the mountain tracks which border on the Mercantour
National park.superb !
If you're feeling fit: 10th Verdon Trail Adventure, 27th to 29th June,
120 km in three days through Europe's largest canyon. Starts and finishes
in Aiguines. |
The Coteaux d'Aix Wine festival on the 2 june at Rognes
Of course you'll be able to taste the wines and local
products at the provençal market. The "Echansons" of the Roy René
will enthrone some new celebrities, the wine and the vines will be
blessed, some sommeliers will initiate you in the art and harmony
of wine and gastronomy all under the busy, colorful ambiance which
is sure to leave you with wonderful memories especially if you walk
away with the 2nd prize in the tombola : your weight in wine !

The Tarasque Fête
at Tarascon
from
28th june to 1st July :4 days of fête around the legendary monster the
Tarasque: medieval spectacles in the château, Encierro (bull and horse
racing), parades, folklore, decorated floatss, St Jean's fire, (he
gets everywhere!) firework display... and of course the Tarasque and
Tartarin parade (15.00 Sunday).

Salon-de-Provence,
Salon-de-Provence celabrates Nostradamus from
28 to 30 June, street théâtre festival, firework displays, grand historical

 The night of the small Saint Jean at
Valréas , 22 june brings 400 actors in medieval costume for a son and
lumière and procession from the Notre Dame church to the château
of Simiane. This colourful parade has taken place every year since
1504!

La Roque d'Anthéron
1 and 2 June,
at Caromb 8 and
9 June and at Mallemort
30 June. Cherry sales and market , folklore, parades, cowboy
and horseback games, country meals (reservation) and in the evening,
a village ball.

 Get
your skates on !
On 8th and 9th June Nice
will open its grand avenues to roller skaters: demonstrations,
activities all day and from 9 pm on the Promenade des Anglais there
will be champion speed skating races (World Cup). |

Donkey
Festival in Escragnoles
16th June Sweet and gentle more than 60 donkeys of all breeds
will be waiting for you in this small village, (more than 15 000
visitors last year), rides for children, events and local products.

Books Festival in Antibes

to 23rd June. In the shade of the pine trees, right by the water,
the Côte d'Azur Comic Strip Festival welcomes fifty authors of what
is considered as the 9th Art. Over the years, this festival has become
the most important in the South of France and attracts large numbers
of visitors. |
 Sacred Music Festival from
9th to 28th June – the 28th edition of this Sacred Music Festival
will feature once again this year, concertos, organ and harpsichord
recitals from Haydn, Rossini, Litz, Bach, Mozart, Lotti Schubert and
Brahms in the churches of old
