Eglise Villars

Pop.: 700 .
Area: 3,005 ha. Alt.: 333m.

Département of the Vaucluse

7 km north of Apt via the D943, then the D11.

This pretty little village is built at the top of a small hill which has an excellent view of the surrounding countryside in the Luberon .

Far from the main highways, you will discover the marvellous landscape of Villars and its hamlets.

Visitors can walk around the narrow village streets where the architecture blends in with the environment. This is ochre country, with beautiful stones, vineyards, and fields of cherry orchards... this fabulous scenery inspired the painter Paul Guigou who was born here in 1834.

A series of guided walks (detailed directions are available) will help you to get closer to nature and learn about the flora and fauna, and the geology. You can chose between six signposted routes varying in length from 2 and a half hours to 7 hours... don't forget the 2 routes of the "Grande randonnée" GR6 and GR9 which cross the village!!!
