This tiny village
of only 48 inhabitants is situated on the border of the Alpes de Haute Provence,
on the edge of the "route de l'ocre".
Gignac is in the Parc
Naturel Régional du Luberon surrounded
by superb countryside.
The ochre cliffs of the Colorado Provençal
and huge fields of lavander can be found nearby.
There are ruins to visit in the village, the château
and its fortifications were not destroyed during the religious wars in
the 16th century and are classified "Monument Historique" since
1997. Calm and tranquillity reign today and visitors will enjoy walking
in the area Vaucluse or Alpes
de Haute Provence. |
