Right in the middle of the forest of the Maures, Collobrières is
renowned for its chestnut graves and for farming the cork oak trees.
This peaceful village, the capital of
the Maures is far from the crowds of the coast. The
river Real Collobrier cuts through the village and one gets from one side
to the other by a charming 12th c. bridge.
Picturesque
houses and an ancient fountain in the shady town square make strolling
around this medieval village a very
pleasant occupation.
Collobrières
is a good starting point tor hikers wishing to tour the Massif des Maures.
Numerous routes, tracks and footpaths lead out from the village into the
damanial forests of La Londe Les Maures,
Pierrefeu, Pignans
and Mayons. |
