Nice Carnaval
The most important event on the French Riviera, for its 126th edition will be "King of the Blue Planet "
Giant parades with their floats built thanks to the know-how of the Carnavaliers of Nice, elegant batailles de fleurs (flower parades) along the Promenade des Anglais, parades of lights, musical groups, ... all the magic of Carnival will explode for more than a fortnight, with a unique programme of festivities !

February is mimosa month
The traditional Grand Corso du Mimosa takes place in
Bormes on February 28th with its procession of floral floats, colour, music, brass band and majorettes to celebrate this important event
Corso also on February 7th in Ste Maxime and Tanneron

Mimosa festival in Mandelieu
This year, Mandelieu-La Napoule’s festival will honour " Mythes and Legend " : shows, gala evenings, Provencal market and traditions, etc.
On the 14th and 21th procession of floral floats in the town centre. On 13th and 20th Evening Parade.

Each day several troops of circus present their creations, it is beautiful, funny, poetic and magic ... Under capital at "Les Sablettes".

Archaeological exhibition: "Caesar, the Rhône for memory" in Arles
The exhibition looks back at 20 years of excavations in the river at Arles and off the coast at Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Of more than 500 objects on show, undoubtedly the most impressive is this famous bust of Julius Caesar. Departmental museum of Ancient Arles.

Exhibition A Tribute to Donors Fernand Léger Museum at Biot
On 13 May 1960, the founders of the Fernand Léger Museum, Nadia Khodossievitch-Léger and Georges Bauquier, demonstrated their great generosity with a prestigious donation comprising a building, grounds and collections. To pay them proper tribute, the Fernand Léger National Museum looks back on its history with a selection of their works.

Violet Festival at Tourettes sur Loup
The whole village is in flower and fragrances fill the air. The streets play host to the farmers' market, which includes flower growers, farmers and wine-growers, and come to life with games for children, folklore events and jazz groups. You will also be able to visit the fields of violets. The high point of the festivities is the great Violets Procession (grand Corso des violettes) at 2.30 pm which brings the day's events to a close (7th at 2.30 pm)

Sea Battle of the Flowers at Villefranche sur mer
A unique event in France : a battle of flowers on the water : Traditional procession of flower-decked pointus. A flower battle ensues between the boats as various attractions on the quaysides feature folk groups

This is the best period to set out on the "mimosa trail" in the pleasant winter sunshine
, surrounded by sumptuous landscapes, passing through these 8 delightful stop overs : Bormes, le Rayol Canadel, Ste Maxime, St Raphaël, Mandelieu, Tanneron, Pégomas finishing in Grasse with a visit to the international museum of perfume and the famous perfume manufacturers : Galimard, Fragonard and Molinard.

Discover the Route d'Or with the French Riviera 2CV Club
which will also be celebrating mimosa.
This is a major national gathering of 2CV collectors and enthusiasts ( 270 2CV in 2009) :
They will leave Grasse heading for Pégomas and Tanneron through forests of mimosa in bloom, with a huge country picnic when they arrive on St Cassien lake. A wonderful atmosphere - beautiful 2CVs and mimosa everywhere... A really great day out!

Great Flower Parade at Lavandou
This great flower procession takes over the town in a party mood, with more than 20 floral floats, a flower battle, flag throwers and a brass band, making this great colourful and lively parade one of the most magnificent events at the start of the season.
