The Castillon lake is 8 km. long with a surface of
500 ha. Part of the southern tip near Demandolx is forbidden to the public,
being reserved for the French Navy.
Life guards keep watch on the beaches.
There are two dams in the southern tip, one being the Barrage de Castillon
and the other the Barrage de Chaudanne.
The boating centers and boat launches are in St. Julien du Verdon and
St. André les Alpes.
Water activities:
canoeing, kayaking, sailing, wind-surfing, water skiing, water scooters,
pedal boats. Information on different outings on the lake can be found
at the boating centers and through the boat rental agents.
Well marked hiking trails surround the lake
