Saint Andiol is a typical little Provençal village, peacefully located in the valley of the Durance between the Luberon and the Alpilles.

Situated on the N7, close to the A7 and near the border of the departments of Bouches du Rhône and Vaucluse, Saint Andiol makes an excellent jumping-off point for travelling around the region to see the excavations at Glanum, the Antiques of St Rémy, the citadel of Les Baux de Provence, the château at Tarascon, the villages of the Lubéron, the museums of Arles and Salon, the abbey of Frigolet, the Cavaillon market, the Avignon festival and so on.

Soak up the tranquil atmosphere as you take a peaceful stroll along Saint Andiol’s little streets. You will discover a village full of character with little squares and attractive houses adorned with window boxes, a place where cats are often to be found dozing in nooks shaded by trees.

You cannot help but admire the beautiful and imposing church of St Vincent, built in the 12th century in the Romanesque style. It was fortified in the 14th century and is currently undergoing restoration. Just next to the church, you will find the Renaissance-style St Andiol château, which dates from the 17th century.

The château has been converted into a sports and cultural centre, and so the grounds are open to the public. You’ll meet children running up and down the stairs or playing in the courtyard. A children’s playground and picnic tables in the grounds make for a pleasant visit.

Don’t miss the chapel of Ste Croix, which was built in a pure Romanesque style and dates from the 9th centry.

If you want to regain your energy and boost your vitamin intake, go and see the “Musée Pressoire de Provence” (the Provence Press Museum) where you’ll learn about the history of fruit juice and its production since the beginning of the last century. There is a small workshop, where fruit juice is produced. You can also visit the orchard and, of course, sample the end product.
