Cuges les Pins

Situated on route N8 between Aubagne (12km.) and Le Beausset (18km.).
Cuges les Pins, set at the foothills of the Ste. Baume mountains, is at an even distance between Marseilles and Toulon.

It is an exceptional site being the biggest crater in France, formed during the Tertiary Period.

Cuges is ensconced here in this depression of 5 kilometers long and 1,5 kilometers wide. To reach it one must take the Ange Pass or the Castellet Pass.

Building of the village began in 1507 and it has been through many restorations. Don't miss the oldest streets in town (Docteur Gastinel, Horloge, Victor Hugo, Blvd. Gambetta), or the fountains and the city gardens.


What to see:

The 1869 church, 8 Oratories.
The 1824 clock, Chapel St. Antoine.
Every year there is a pilgrimage of St. Anthony af Padua
on the l3th and 16th of June.

Horseback riding, climbing, hiking,mountain biking.
