Saint Auban

Population : 269 h.
Surface Area : 4.254 ha.

Alpes Maritimes Department

50km from Grasse on the N85 for 40 km and then turn right on the D2211.

In the east of the department, on the border with the Alpes de Haute Provence, Saint Auban is a small ancient village climbing up at the foot of the immense Tragastel rock.

In the Middle ages the village had a keep and ramparts. A number of ruins bear witness to these former fortifications.

Today Saint Auban is a pleasant, untroubled village. You will be seduced by the leafy banks of the charming small lakes and verdant plains which surround the village.

The Esteron valley is an impressive sight with its cliffs and rocks dug by the passage of the river. Discover the cave view point on the valley side. A religous procession makes for the shrine in September.
