Puget-Théniers brings together the charm of a small business
town and the charm of a village which seems to know how to develop without
losing its identity.
You'll appreciate this if you visit the ancient
streets where you'll see shops with their signs engraved in stone.
One of the best ways to appreciate the sumptuous landscapes in the area is to take the famous "Train des Pignes" which has its HQ at the Puget-Théniers station. It's an authentic steam train dating from 1909 (well maintained...) with wooden seats in the coaches and open air viewing platforms. The train runs from Digne to Nice, from May to October, through the Nice hinterland the Var and Redoule valleys. The "Maison de pays de Puget-Théniers"
organises exhibitions, visits, themed days and visits to help you to
discover and enrich your knowledge of the natural riches of this extremely
beautiful valley. |
