La Penne

Pop.: 164 h - Alt.: 850 m
Surface Area : 1.808ha

Alpes Maritimes Department.

75 Km North West of Nice, on the RN 202 after Puget-Théniers.

Built on the slopes of a mountain ridge, La Penne is a small village of tall houses wisely grouped around each other. Wonderful views can be seen over the Val du Chanan, between the Var and Esteron valleys.
Vast verdant pasture land flows down from the village turning into forests and copses much lower down the slopes. Take a detour to the hamlet of Besseuges where the landscapes are truly magnificent.

There's also some roman and ligurian remains and La Penne is a paradise for amateur geologists.
