Between Nice
(20km) and Cannes (12km) on the N7.
Antibes exit on A8 Motorway.
Antibes-Juan les Pins is one of the most well known resorts on
the Côte d'Azur, located between Nice (20 km) and Cannes (12km). Antibes
manages to be a historic town, an eventful town and also an innovating
town, easily mixing these multiple facets. Juan les Pins is the most
exciting part with an exciting nightlife where night owls run shoulders
in summer as they move between fashionable night clubs, casino and even
night shopping ...Antibes is quieter with a variety of restaurants,
cafés, theaters, piano bars, chic hôtels and private clubs.
The
Cap d'Antibes is a small piece of paradise, you can visit it by
taking the sign posted path which follows the coastline and takes you
into this immense park which is scrupulously maintained . It's also
home to a number of millionaires chateau and dream residences; the famous
"Eden Roc", hotel is reputed to be the most beautiful hotel in the world
and can be found at the point of the "Cap".
Historic Town :
For a long time Antibes was the only large town between Marseille and
Italy. It was the only town on the coast to be protected by ramparts,
and thus it has managed to conserve historic monuments from each period
in its heritage. The Chateau, bastion and towers have today been transformed
into a magnificent Modern Art Museum, History and Archeology Museum and
museum of traditional crafts and local culture.
Most of the treasures can be found in the historic town center. It's better
to visit this part on foot taking in it's particular atmosphere, meander
between pretty squares and it's narrow streets... Let yourself be guided
by the charm of the craft workshops where crafts persons work, often leaving
the doors of their workshops open for all to see, or by the boutiques
with their sun-faded façades or by the beautiful odours of simmering dishes
wafting from the open windows....
Beach resort :
25 km of coastline where pebble beaches give way to fine sandy beaches
(public and private), secluded even secret creeks and 5 ports (Vauban,
Galice, Crouton, Olivette and Salis). For those of you who love to walk
amongst the quays admiring the boats this is the place to visit... Port
Vauban is the largest pleasure boat port in Europe! We don't need to
add that you can find every kind of water sports imaginable in Antibes.
Festival Town :
For over 40 years the legendary "Jazz à Juan" jazz festival
has brought the stars to Antibes. From Bechet, Armstrong to Coltrane,
or Miles and the sublime Ella...they've all been here. And it still
goes on, as the pine trees are still the rendezvous for the headlining
Jazz musicians and the stars of tomorrow.
Technopôle :
In the 60s Antibes turned to the future and developed the Sophia Antipolis
Technology Park, which today is the largest technology park in Europe.
Sophia Antipolis is a strategic importance to the area and hosts a variety
of world famous companies, many specialized in multimedia...a sort of
miniature Silicon Valley....à la française!!!
