The village is situated in the heart of the Verdon canyons and lakes at 900 m. Surrounded by mountains and ridges, it is the gateway to the fabulous display ot the high valley of Verdon.

Only two steps away is the Castillon lake vvhere you can swim, fish, go boating or try any of the other enjoyable water sports. Hikers will be happy to find trails leaving St. André that lead up to the peaks that encircle the valley.

At the very top one can soar away on a hangglider or sign up for paragliding lessons at the school. The World Cup paragliding championships were held here in 1993. Don't miss the picturesque Pignes train that travels from Nice to Digne through beautiful countryside.
