 The
two villages La Mure and Argens were united in 1973 and today form one
town.
La Mure sets on the banks of the Issole river where it flows into the
Verdon, and where the valley widens into green open spaces. Up until the
last century, La Mure was a prospering city, well known for its sheet
production. Unfortunately this no longer exists.
Argens is in the heart of the Maurel mountains on a plateau of over
1400m. There are only 7 permanent residents there at this time ! In
order to get to Argens, one takes a little road that follows the Sasse
stream through an alpine forest scattered with little springs.
