Apart from its sumptuous natural setting of pines, vast meadows and bracing high altitude air, this large mountain village has other ways to seduce the visitor. Its pleasant pedestrian area with its pastel facades, its numerous gîtes, tables d’hôtes and other charming, friendly hotels, its Café des Arcades and its Valley Museum freshly painted in bright colours, etc.

Jausiers is clean and very well restored and presents a joyful appearance, with its elegant little square skirting its fountain, from where you will be able to admire the beautiful St Nicolas de Myre church, with its “sober” baroque style in accordance with the Piedmontese style, without gilding or embellishments.

If you know your history you will remember that it was from Jausiers that the Arnaud brothers set out. They are famous in the Valley because they emigrated to Mexico at the beginning of the 19th century. Moreover, there is a plaque explaining that they lived in a former "silk mill" before leaving for Louisiana, their initial destination, where they founded Arnaudville.
Whether it is for open air leisure activities or for its historical heritage, its pure fresh air, its tasty goats cheese, the local cooked pork meat products or the genépi liqueur … at Jausiers you will enjoy very "green" holidays !

Guided tour of the church of Saint Nicolas de Myrhe.
Visit the village and its religious heritage, and also visit the last windmill in activity in the department.

The park with the Mexican villas. The cemetery with its grandiose tombs.
