This small village is situated on a col linking the Forcalquier basin to the St Etienne Les Orgues plain, surrounded by glorious countryside.

Fontienne is on the lavender trail, known as the "route de la lavande", between the Lure mountain and the Luberon at the heart of a wonderful natural environment. The colours change according to the season, unfolding under the intense blue skies of Provence...

There are few things to visit in Fontienne, you can simply admire the exterior of the privately-owned chateau with its ornaments in embossed stone. The richness of the village lies in the surrounding nature and peaceful environment, disturbed only by the trickling waters of the "fontaine de Diane".
